Patterns: the New Monochromatic

Instead of talking one color we’re talking one pattern. I normally don’t go for patterns. But as you can see by my previous posts I can do plaid and I do it often. On Pinterest I saw a few posts of outfits that were comprised of multiple plaid pieces and they actually worked! The idea seems overwhelming and chaotic but if you find pieces that have a similar color theme it can elevate your look. I decided to try out a plaid mash-up of my own as a little experiment. I found that taking a plaid print scarf with multiple hues and pairing it with a neutral plaid print shirt made this very easy to pull off. What better way to show how much you love plaid than wearing all of your plaid at once! Another easy combo to do is a plaid scarf and shirt in the same hues but different plaid widths. Below are some photos of my plaid on plaid look.

I fell in love with this tree that stands just outside of The Art Institute of Chicago. Its’ leaves are absolutely gorgeous. It’s hard not to enjoy fall when you are around such beautiful and inspiring colors. All I needed was a giant leaf pile to jump into!

Look at those leaves! Even in the heart of the city there is still beauty! By the way this picture is the background of my phone right now 🙂

Oh hey don’t mind me. Just hugging my favorite tree.

I hope you have a wonderful, colorful & happy plaid weekend!
