I’m a neutrals girl at heart. I love color and admire people that can pull off an abundance it. But when I grab things in my closet I just go for black or cream. The safe colors. That’s why even my spring closet is looking a little more on the earth tone side with some denim mixed it.

I’m loving this cardigan. It’s brown but almost feels olive. A very different color especially for my black and cream ways. I also really love the shape. I’ve been looking at a few jackets/kimonos that are similar but more sustainable. It’s a classic silhouette and I can already tell that it will be a staple in my closet for years. I’m just having a difficult time on choosing which color to start with.

This is an area where I tend to struggle in my capsules and ethical purchases. Since they are investments I want to pick colors that I know I’ll wear. So even though that may lead to a neutral closet I’m going to look for accessories that can add color to my clothes. I’d rather know I’ll wear something I buy than risk getting a different color and not wearing it.

Color seems like such a simply thing but can change how a garment looks on your body or how you feel when you wear it. My advice is to stick with what you know you love and feel good in.

Outfit: Aritzia cardigan (ethically made option) / Aritzia top / 7 for all Mankind flares / Dolce Vita clogs (ethically made version) / Janessa Leone hat (loving this hat!)
