Every day I watched the forecast before our trip. A week out, low 70s and sunny. Three days out, low 60s and 100% chance rain. Day before, low 60s and clouds with maybe some rain. Spring you are so bittersweet.
Needless to say it was very hard to not over pack for the weekend since I wanted to make sure I was prepared for multiple weather scenarios. I ended up with 3 tops, 2 pairs of jeans, 2 dresses (I was so determined to let my legs have some sun on this trip!), 2 different shoes, one jean jacket and another for the plane, then a scarf, 2 purses (one big purse for the plane), and a very old Detroit hat. Still a little over packing but with those 15 different items (including accessories) I had so many outfits - enough for whatever mother nature threw at me.
Another tip that I can't remember if I've shared before is to try on all of your outfits that you plan to wear during your trip. I'm a very visual person so this is a must for me. Sometimes I'll think of something to wear then I put the combo on and it doesn't look quite right. This can also help you eliminate pieces that you were originally planning on packing.
