Mini-Moon in Colorado + Packing List
Hello again! We are finally returning back to a normal schedule! These last couple weeks have been crazy and wonderful. I got to marry my best friend and partner in crime AND we went on a mini-moon to Boulder, Colorado!
After spending months and months planning for our wedding, we just needed a moment of spontaneity which resulted in the two of us renting a car and driving out to Boulder! Before this past week I had only been to Colorado once when I was little so it was great to go back and visit again.
The weather was beautiful the whole time we were there. It was the perfect escape and a great way to kick off married life!
Day 1: Car Ride
Comfy tee, boyfriend fit jean shorts & birkenstocks. You really can't go wrong in the car with this combination! Sidenote: my husband actually got me this backpack when we were in Boulder and it will forever be my travel buddy. The bag is by Will Leather Goods and each backpack comes with a pillow! Adorable and so smart.
Day 1: Date Night
We left at 3:30AM on Tuesday and arrived in Boulder just before dinner time. Some how we mustered up the energy to have a little date night to celebrate our arrival! We went to a lovely restaurant called Salt on Pearl St. in downtown Boulder then finished the night with champagne!
Day 2: Exploring
There are so many breweries around Boulder it's crazy! Our friends recommended West Flanders Brewery and it was delicious!
Day 3: Shopping
This is when I found my beautiful backpack and a new store that I'm obsessed with. It's called Island Farm. The store itself is beautiful as well as everything in it! Once their online store goes live I will definitely keep them on my radar for home decor and clothes!
Day 3: Dinner with Friends
Outfit: elizabeth suzann top (sustainably & ethically made) / black maxi skirt (I've had this forever! similar here) / madewell sandals / primecut clutch (sustainably made) / trio trio necklace (sustainably made)
We have several good friends in Colorado and we were lucky enough to see them on our trip! We went to a great restaurant/brewery called Post and sat outside on picnic tables with strung up lights all around. Boulder, you make a nice fried chicken if I do say so myself!
Day 4: On the Road Again
After being in Boulder for several days we decided to take our adventure to South Dakota to see Mount Rushmore! Neither River nor I had ever seen it let alone been in the state of South Dakota!
Day 5: Final Drive
Ok. I'll admit it. This last day of just driving I wore a tee shirt I got at one of the breweries and my jean shorts. Nothing fancy. Basically what I slept in but I did change the shorts :)
All in all it was a great trip and I would definitely recommend visiting Boulder if you're looking for a fun and refreshing getaway.
