I’m so excited to share my spring wardrobe! I’ve been craving lighter colors for a little over a month now and already knew what pieces I would pull out of storage. To be fully transparent here’s the breakdown of new, old & sustainable items in my closet.
All of the items that make up my closet are below and for items that no longer exist, I’ve linked to similar ethical options. Below you’ll also find some holes that I’m already starting to notice as well as looks that I’m pulling inspiration from 🙂
| BLUE BLOUSE | – this is a very old blouse from Anthropologie that I absolutely love. The color is beautiful and the buttons are iridescent which is a nice subtle detail. I actually shrank it in the wash but luckily it still fits!
| BLUSH BLOUSE | – from last Christmas, this is a lovely blouse from Madewell. Last year I was hung up on blush but didn’t really commit to the color. I’ve been drawn to it again so I decided to commit to it more this year. I’m thinking this will be my spring color for the foreseeable future.
| CREAM TUNIC | – I had been watching this tunic from Only Child for a looong time and never pulled the trigger. Haley then sent out a note that this style would be taking a leave, hopefully only temporary!, from her site so I had to jump on it!
| WHITE CROP TOP | – I love the material of this top. It’s a linen blend but feels so airy. It’s looks great when it’s tucked & untucked.
| V NECK SWEATER | – Obsessed with this sweater. I can tell it might not last as long as some other pieces in my closet but it sure is cozy 🙂
| MARBELED CARDIGAN | – Cardigans are a must for spring and crazy transitional weather!
| STRIPE COURIER SHIRT | – This will be round two of this stripe shirt. It is easily one of my closet faves and will probably be sticking around for summer.
| CREAM CARDIGAN | – All of the cardigans. I almost got rid of this guy. I just wasn’t feeling it and thought I could find something better. I decided to try and give it a second life and so far I’m glad I did.
| CROP CREAM SWEATER | – This guy. I love it. So cozy and the handwoven texture is like to other. It’s also the perfect layering piece!
| ROSE CROP TOP | – exact same as the white one. Sometimes if I find something I really like I’ll get it in a second color. If you know what you like and you’ll wear it all the time then I think it’s a great investment.
| WHITE BLOUSE | – I’ve had this shirt for a long time as well. I got it at Zara about four years ago. I just love the little dot texture. Again a subtle detail that makes all the difference.
| CHAMBRAY SHIRT | – I had been looking for a new chambray shirt to replace mine and was happy to find this one secondhand! I’m very picky about my denim washes whether jeans or chambray shirts and this one is A+ in my book.
| LINEN WIDE LEG PANTS | – LOVE. LOVE. LOVE and go buy these pants. You will not regret it!
| BOYFRIEND JEANS | – These have been around for a long time. I love the wash and how they look with slightly ruffled/cuffed jeans. I’m actually toying with getting a full on mom jean pair…
| WHITE WORK PANTS | – Another love from Elizabeth Suzann. Seriously the pockets on these pants are magical and she makes pants like no other.
| DARK BLUE SKINNY JEANS | – These were a gift and one of my favorite pairs of skinny jeans. So soft and the hold their shape extremely well.
| HIGH WAIST GREY JEANS | – Right now these are the most worn jeans in my closet and I had to keep them around for spring.
| CROP FLARE JEANS | – These are a different move for me. So far I’m really digging the silhouette and shape!
| WHITE SHIRT DRESS | – oh look a dress! I actually got this secondhand from one of Lee from Style Bee’s closet sales! Serious fangirl and now I feel a little creepy. But when I saw this dress on her blog I LOVED it and was searching like crazy all over the internet for it. Needless to say I never found it so when it showed up in her closet sale I was over the moon!
| SWEATER COAT | – I love this coat and thought the color would be perfect for spring and those slightly chillier days!
| DENIM JACKET | – This was a secondhand purchase and I just loved the quilted denim pattern! It’s also lined so it should be nice and warm if Spring temperatures drop.
| WOOL COAT | – One of my favorite finds from my winter capsule. We’re still getting some snow in Chicago so this one will be sticking around for a little while longer.
| MODERN OXFORDS | – I’ve had my eye on these since fall and finally made a move. The color is to die for and I think these will be a closet hero in my closet this year.
| SMALL HEEL PUMP | – these shoes! So cute with the tiny heel and the color is so rich and beautiful.
| MULES | – I got these last year during my blush craze and I’m super happy I did! I’m really loving mules right now 🙂
| ANKLE BOOTS | – These were a Black Friday purchase several years ago and I just love the color. I’ve tried to find an ethically made option in a similar shade and so far no luck. These really are great boots so I’ll probably just keep them instead of looking for a replacement.
| CLOGS | – AH! CLOGS! These are secondhand from No.6 which is my favorite clog company. I love this color and they are so comfy. Perfect all day heel shoe.
| WHITE SNEAKERS | – These are a year round staple. Like every season I’m going to keep trying to incorporate them more and more into my wardrobe.
| WIDE LEG WHITE PANTS | – since I’m loving the wide legs I really want to add a white version to my closet. I have my black raw hem jean pair and my black linen pair but would love to add a white pair into the mix!
| LIGHT COLOR SWEATER | – So my capsule might not be insanely realistic right now, as I’m typing this it’s snowing outside, and I may need to look into adding another sweater or too 🙂
| LIGHT COLOR LINEN PANTS | – Just like my black linen pair I’d love a natural pair or maybe even a tapered leg. The linen becomes so soft with each and every wear that my linen florence pants are my absolute favorite.
| TRENCH COAT | – This is something my closet has been lacking for a very long time and it has been on my list for a long time. This might mean that I need to pull the trigger and get one! I think eventually I’d like a structured one and deconstructed version.
I went through my posts from last spring to highlight the outfits I would be repeating this year and realized that my style has changed dramatically. It has become much more refined and elevated in my opinion. Especially when I think of some of the outfits that I’m planning to wear this season. So since it doesn’t feel applicable to pull inspiration from last year, I went to Pinterest. Below are some looks that I’m loving for this season 🙂
Are any of you creating a spring capsule/curated closet? I’d love to hear what your color palette is this year and which pieces you’re looking forward to wearing!
