Happy Tuesday everyone! I hope you all had a lovely weekend. This past weekend I was still getting over my head cold but managed to muster the strength to get lunch with my guy at one of my favorite burger places in the city. We sat outside, had a beer, ate tasty burgers and I got a little sunburned! I didn’t realize how much I needed warmth and sunshine until I was sitting on that patio. I’m normally a fall/cold weather person. Sweater weather is my jam. But lately I’ve been itching to get outside more and more as the weather warms up. Don’t get me wrong I enjoy summer but I have never been this ready for hot weather before. Today was another lovely 75 degree day and I tried to soak it all in before it switched to 50 tomorrow 🙁 it’s still better than snow though!
Well as you can guess my 10×10 has been a little wonky since I’ve been sick. I’m sorry to say I haven’t been wearing my outfits while I’ve been cozied up on the couch. But I’m happy to jump back into things and share look 4 with you now!
| ROSE | – I mostly added this top out of a need to add some color to my 10×10. I was worried I’d get too bored with just whites, cream and blue. I love the cut of this top though. Slightly cropped and the high neckline with pleats adds a lovely subtle detail. It can easily go without a statement necklace.
| TIE AROUND | – I don’t do this often. Mostly it’s for practical reasons like when I’m running errands around town and get too hot with my sweater/jacket on. I do like how it broke up this look though and tied in the tab of the clogs. I do think the tie around make my caboose a little more prominent than I like but again it was a fun experiment!
| RAW HEM | – last year I would have worn this look with normal skinny jeans. Probably a dark or medium wash. I’m so happy I added a different pair of jeans into the mix. They’re still sliming like skinnier but have just the slightest flare and that “my dog at my jeans” hem. I know they’re a trend right now but I can see myself continuing to wear little details like these in the future. I also purchased them secondhand so taking the risk on this one trend was fine with me and my wallet.
| CLOGS | – clogs made their debut in my closet last year and I have not turned back. Adding the height with the heel made my legs look even longer. Especially with the crop and slight flare of the jeans. I can truthfully say I am now a clog lover for life! Ethically made clogs can definitely be an investment. I actually purchased these secondhand on @noihsaf.bazzar and saved a pretty penny! So if you’re ok with buying secondhand I highly suggest going that route for your first pair!
