I love finding new designers. Before I started my blog I was always on Pinterest looking for style inspiration and stumbling upon beautiful brands. Now with this space I want to share those designers with all of you! One of these brands in Sotela. I first discovered Sotela in the summer of last year. I’ve been meaning to add to my dress basics and the Jersey Swing Dress had been on my list for quite some time. Fortunately I was lucky enough that Hanna saw my future winter wish list (with the Jersey Swing Dress on it) and sent me the dress to try out. All I can say is that I don’t want to take it off! Before I go into my full review and how I’ve decided to style this beautiful dress I want to share a little bit more about Sotela.

Sotela first started back in 2015 after Hanna (founder and designer behind Sotela) was tired of looking at her closet and not being able to wear or not wanting to wear the majority of items in her closet. She then set out on a journey to create eco-friendly and comfortable clothing for women. The core beliefs behind Sotela resonate very strongly with me. Hanna wants women to always feel comfortable and beautiful even as their bodies change. We all go through changes. Mentally, physically and the last thing we want is to have clothes that make us feel self-conscious or uncomfortable. Our clothes should make us feel like the very best version of ourselves and I love how Hanna takes this into consideration with every piece she designs. The thought and consideration truly shows!

This first look is how I’m most often wearing this dress right now. So sad it is May and we are still having fluctuating temperatures! I’ve expressed my love for dresses over pants/denim many times and the infatuation lives on! This dress is unbelievably easy to layer. A turtleneck base, jersey swing dress and pants and I’m ready for my 50 degree spring days! I’m also excited to experiment and transition this dress in FW 2017! I’m sensing much more layering!

This second look is how I’ll being wearing this dress in the summer! I’ve added a chambray shirt just in case the summer evening gets chilly and balanced the elegance of the dress with a sporty sneaker. Also, breaking up the solid black with a light chambray shirt and white sneakers helps transition it into summer as well. I can tell that this will definitely be a repeat outfit for me this summer.

| STYLE | – I really love this dress for it’s simple and versatile shape. It is a very minimal dress but that’s what helps it become a chameleon in your closet. The swingy skirt just makes you want to twirl around! I love the two above looks but I can also see myself wearing this dress with just black sandals and my boater hat!

| FABRIC | – The material in the dress is phenomenal. It is seriously incredibly soft. I just want to lounge in it all day! Sometimes I get nervous with knit materials and being a little see through but that is not the case with this dress. It is made of 92% Modal & 8% spandex which gives it a tad bit of stretch.

| SIZE | – I’m wearing a size 1 in the Jersey Swing Dress and for reference I’m 5’5″ and about 127lbs 34C-27-39. The top is just fitted enough to give the dress structure and to balance out the flowy bottom. Swing dresses look great on all shapes and sizes and just like Hanna says, it has enough room to adapt to your different stages in life whether that’s an over stuffed Thanksgiving belly or an expecting mama 🙂

| CARE | – I have not tried to wash this dress yet but the care instructions say to machine wash on cold and tumble dry low or hang dry. Sometimes in the slow fashion world you’ll stumble upon a ton of garments that are dry clean only so it’s nice to find basics and staples that can go in the washer!

Overall I’m a big fan of this dress so if you’re looking to add a black staple dress to your wardrobe I highly recommend this one!

outfit 1: sotela dress (size 1) / gap turtleneck (similar from amour vert) / madewell summer jeans (size: 26) / birkenstocks / cuynana tote

outfit 2: sotela dress / madewell chambray shirt / veja sneakers / cuyana tote

This post is sponsored by Sotela but all opinions are my own 🙂
