It’s almost Friday! I feel like this week went by so fast. Maybe that’s because there’s still so many things that I want to get done before we more. This includes everything from packing what we’ll need for August (we get corporate housing for 30 days so we won’t actually have all of our stuff until September!) to taking the fur babies to the vet and visiting our favorite restaurants one last time. Needless to say my mind has been all over the place and I fell slightly behind in my challenge! But today I’m happy to share look 8!
This look is probably the most basic outfit so far in my 10×10 but it has helped me uncover an outfit formula that I’ve been using on repeat this summer. I love recognizing patterns in my outfits. It helps me further define my style and gives me a base line to build on. If you ever start to recognize a pattern to your outfits make sure to write it down so that when you go shopping you know what pieces you’re already naturally wearing. for
| T-SHIRT UPGRADE | – I like to think of this outfit as my t-shirt upgrade. Normally this outfit would consist of a vneck tee, skinny jeans and sandals. I’m happy to say that the raw silk from Jamie + the Jones is just as comfortable as my basic cotton tee but looks much more put together. I’ll still love my simple tees but if I want to elevate a look without putting a ton of thought into it then I’ll thrown on my raw silk shirt.
| UMBER + LIGHT BLUE | – I feel like I’ve been all about color contrasts in this challenge so I’m sorry if I sound like a broken record 🙂 I’m enjoying this pairing of umber and light blue. It has inspired me to look at other light blue options in my capsule and see how I can recreate this combo in different ways.
| OUTFIT FORMULA | – my new summer outfit formula:
oversized crop top + high waist pant (preferably a mom jean or slim leg) + sandals
One of my favorite things about this challenge is finding new outfit formulas. This one isn’t crazy new but I find it helpful to write down my outfit formulas so I can keep them in mind when I’m getting ready in the morning. I will usually keep these formulas in the notes section of my phone so I can quickly access them when I don’t feel like putting much thought into getting dressed that day.
