Hi friends! Bringing you a little #10×10 action on the weekend! If you follow me on Instagram you’ve seen this outfit before. I just love it so much I had to spotlight it in this challenge. Honestly I picked these pieces as part of my 10×10 without thinking of this look. Then when I was playing around with my picks I was happy to realize that I could create this look again!
So comfy. I love this look and spoiler alert it’s one of my favorite three outfits from this challenge. I’ll be sharing the other two in my wrap up post 🙂 My favorite thing about this look is the ease of it. It’s so simple and yet looks polish and put together. In the past to create a “no brain” outfit I would have just grabbed a t-shirt and jeans. This look is just as easy to throw together and way more comfortable! And it’s that same formula (high rise pant + crop top + sandals) I talked about in my last post but looks completely different!
| BLENDING CASUAL & DRESSY | – linen is generally a more casual fabric more traditionally reserved for summer dresses. To make these linen pants a little more on the fancy side I paired them with heels instead of my flats and added a classic black satchel. Pairing a casual item with sophisticated and simple accessories easily dresses up the overall look.
| BRIGHT NEUTRALS | – this outfit is a softer version of an all white summer look. It still feels fresh but the natural linen pants warm it up and make the outfit look less pristine than a white on white combo. It’s livable. I love a good white combo but I sometimes feel like a walking canvas for stains. This gives that same bright neutral effect without being pure white.
| NO TUCK | – I’m having a tricky time tucking in this top. The overall shape is gorgeous and hangs away from your body in a perfect way. Since it is a little more structured than some of my other cotton or raw silk tops, I’m having a hard time tucking it without getting weird folds. I’m going to keep trying but for now the no tuck works for me!
| SUMMER FABRICS | – this look is a combination of my two favorite summer fabrics: linen & the new cotton poplin. Both are light and airy so you don’t overheat which is key in summer time. This is also a great combo for the office. I struggle with finding outfits that keep me warmish in the office (my workplace is freezing!) and still comfortable when I’m outside after work. Linen pants have been my main solution here. Natural linen does seem more casual so if you need to dress it up a bit more go for a black or navy version.
