I can’t believe Thanksgiving is in two days! November has flown by much quicker than I anticipated. Since this is my favorite time of the year I’m trying to be more present than ever so it doesn’t just pass me by. This means a ton of holiday activities like baking cookies and decorating the apartment and I’m just so excited!
Before I dive into my gift guide I wanted to provide a quick preamble. I’ve had these thoughts for a while now but thought today would be the most appropriate time to share them.
In this space, I try very hard not to impose the feeling that you need to buy all of the things all of the time. It’s a very fine line because I want to showcase brands and small businesses but I don’t want you to feel pressured to buy things just to buy. I want you to still be thoughtful and focused when it comes to your closet. Take time to plan and mull over your decisions. With the kick off of holiday shopping, It can be very easy to get glazed over by all of the sales. While at the same time it is also a great time to finally pull the trigger on some of those ethically made pieces that were just a little out of reach before and support small business owners. Just remember to reference your list, set a budget and make a game plan.
So with that being said, if you are looking for holiday gift ideas, I’ve curated a list of sustainable gifts for everyone on your list and a couple of discount codes for Thoughtful Closet readers! The products listed below are items that I personally love or are ones that I’ve had my eye on as gifts. 1. Make a list of everyone I need gifts for
2. Obtain a list from that person if there is anything they are really wishing for this holiday season.
3, Pick a couple of items that I’ve had my eye on
4. Set my budget
5. Make sure I’m on the email list for my favorite brands/shops.
I have to be very careful about email lists. When I want to go on a shopping fast I will normally delete myself from all email lists except a few of my absolute favorite brands. But when it is holiday season I make sure I’m on the list for the places I know I want to get some gifts from so I don’t miss out on any deals.
6. Either visit those shops in person or shop online when the time comes.
Good luck with all of you holiday shopping and I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
