I almost didn’t post a summer capsule because I’ve been so behind and I didn’t know if they were valuable or not. However, after posting the question the Instagram, a ton of people commented how they appreciate and draw inspiration from them. So here it is! My summer capsule 🙂
Many pieces have spilled over from spring and my color palette is pretty simple with some surprise color and prints mixed in. My style has been going in a modern 90s direction with some more oversized and relaxed pieces thrown in the mix. I’m really loving it so far and am excited to see how it continues to evolve as we approach fall and winter. It is crazy to see how one’s style has changed over the years. Even if you don’t blog, I believe you can easily keep track of your style changes by snapping a quick selfie in the mirror each morning or of outfits you really love.
I’m putting together some content to help layout defining your style as well as how to move towards a more minimal closet. This content has been a very slow process (100% on my end) but hoping to be able to share it all with you soon! I find that style is just as much intangible as it is tangible so I’m trying to come up with more tangible resources to help you wrap your brain around your wardrobe and what style means to you!
Anyways, here are the pieces I’m working with this summer! Below I’ll show you everything that I’ve included, my most worn pieces so far, where I think there may be holes or pieces that are on my wishlist and some summer style inspiration!
This go around I’ve been very conscious of the number of pieces I’m including. In the fall and winter I feel I got a little out of control and I wasn’t feel as minimal wardrobey as I’d like to be. I find that I tend to get carried away with my shoe options as well as bottoms (which is easy to do in the summer when you have shorts and work appropriate attire to worry about). I got my list to be 38 pieces but I’m already starting to see pieces that probably didn’t need to be included and some that would be super valuable.

Black Platform Sandals (linked to similar) – These 90s black platform sandals were a real game changer. I’m actually wearing them right now as I write this post 🙂 I’ve worn them so much and they work with everything in my closet. Seriously, everything.
Georgia Tee in Black Linen – forever in love with this top. It is my throw on when I don’t want to get dressed that day or if I have to run to the grocery store. I’ve been putting off buying this top in multiple colors and I don’t know why. It’s time.
Florence Pants in Linen – ok no shocker here. These are probably my most worn pants all year long. This is another item I’m looking to purchase in a couple other colors. Right now the debate is between flax and ivory linen…we shall see!
Raftan Bag by Helen Kaminski (linked to similar) – this bag has been a game changer for me this summer. I love how it adds a warm element to my mostly black and white wardrobe. It is also perfect for wearing with white bottoms because you don’t have to worry about the raftan leaving any stains on your pants! I love you leather but seriously, not cool.
Triple Strap Sandal – these guys have been the other shoe hero in this story. I love the geometric element that they bring to a look and they’re a beautiful white accent.
Crop top tanks plus high waist bottoms have been a favorite combination for me this summer so I knew I wanted to include one of my crop tanks in my 10×10. Since my palette is very neutral, I decided to stick with my classic black. However my ozma crop top was my second choice.
I’ve worn a version of this shirt in multiple 10x10s so it was a no brainer to include it in this one. It is one of those shirts that I throw on if I’m not sure what I want to wear that day. I love pairing it with my sneakers for a boyish look or with my heeled sandals to add a feminine element. It’s such a timeless classic.
Another staple and one of my most worn items this summer. I knew I just wouldn’t be able to go 10 days without wearing it so into the 10×10 she went! This shirt tucked in is so stunning and the sleeves are a beautiful touch to a basic linen tee.
I wanted to make sure my 10×10 wasn’t all black and white so when I needed to include another bottom I went for my cognac wide leg crop pants. They’re a beautiful color and work so well with black and white.
I’m not super crazy about shorts but Portland has been in the mid 90s recently and that doesn’t give much wiggle room for anything else. I have loved these black high waist shorts by Everlane though. I also really love that they are cotton instead of denim because I love the clean edge look. I feel like everywhere I see denim shorts these days they all have frayed hems!
I received these in the ES grab bag sale a while back and was so excited when I received them. However, I was super worried the linen would be too see-through. I’ve found that if I just wear nude undergarments though they’re perfectly fine! Now they’re my favorite shorts.
8 | triple strap sandal | zuzzi | size: 7 | purchased | sustainably made in LA
I wear these sandals multiple times a week. I love their simplicity and the geometric statement that they bring to an outfit.
I have wanted a simple pair of black heel sandals for over a year now. I was having a hard time finding a simple pair with a manageable heel. Finally I saw these on depop and knew they’d be perfect! So far they’ve been a wonderful addition and perfect for dressing up any outfit.
10 | esplar leather sneaker extra white | veja | size: 38 | purchased | sustainably made in brazil
Surprise surprise these are in here. I love my white sneakers. I also particularly love pairing them with more feminine and soft dresses. I’m thinking about adding a more statement/chunky white sneaker to my wardrobe but we’ll see!
! / THE FASHION MEDLEY / 2 / YOUNG FRANKK / 3 / MEREWIF / 4 / WOLF CURCUS / 5/ SEA + PATTERN
I’m loving the delicate layers of gold and silver jewelry. I’m also loving the nodes to the sea in some of these more abstract pieces.
1 / REFORMATION LOCKLIN DRESS / 2 / FAITHFULL THE BRAND AFTERNOON FLORAL PRINT / 3 / REFORMATION FINLEY DRESS / 4 / FAITHFULL THE BRAND BLOSSOM VILLAGE PRINT / 5 / REFORMATION KITTY TWO PIECE
I started to tackle this (as you can see) but I have serious print fever which is insanely odd for me. I’m leaning towards simple flower prints that still feel modern and not too boho.
