Today I’m sharing my second pick for my closet kit! If you have no idea what I’m talking about here’s a little background on what the closet kit is.

Brass Clothing’s Closet Kit is where you pick three basic pieces from their Foundations collection to kick start your conscious wardrobe. It also comes with a Clean Out Bag to help you declutter your closet. If you want more info on this kit be sure to check it out on Brass’s website!

If you saw my post on the first piece in my closet kit, then you probably noticed how I styled the piece in a dressy look and a dressed down look. The reason behind this was not only to show my readers how versatile these pieces could be but to also challenge myself to use these pieces in different ways.

I’m continuing this trend with the next piece in my closet kit which is the ponte pant. I’ve had my eye on these pants for years. They’re one of Brass’s best selling items and now I know why! So today I’m sharing my mini review of the ponte pant and how I styled it into two different looks!

| Cost | $98

| Material | Rayon, Nylon, Spandex

| Where it’s Made | Hangzhou, China

| Care | Machine wash cold, air dry

| Fit | Oh my these lovelies fit like a glove. I’m wearing a size Small and my measurements are: height 5’5”, weight 130lbs, chest 34c, waist 27” I might even be able to go to an xsmall for a slightly tighter fit but these are extra comfortable. They come in two inseams (28” & 30”) and I opted for 28” for a slightly more cropped fit.

| Comfort | I’m so happy that I finally found a pair of work appropriate leggings! They are nice and thick with a good amount of stretch but they still hold their shape. It’s basically like wearing pajamas in public. There is also a wider than average waist band that I was a little nervous about but it isn’t too constricting and holds everything so nicely in place. It’s like a warm hug instead of a constricting squeeze everything in like a pair of Spanx!

| Thoughts | I received these a couple weeks ago right before the weekend and ended up wearing them all weekend long. They make me feel put together while running errands but I’m still super comfortable. If I had one minor meh with these is that they do collect a lot of furry friend hair. To fix this I just keep a mini roller in my handbag/car and do a quick swab once I’m out of the house (because the minute you clean all the hair off the fur friends have to snuggle up and rub all over you!). Other than the hair that they can collect they are absolutely fantastic! Oh another fun bonus! They have full functioning pockets on the back! 100% A+

| High Waist Accent | For this first look I want to be sure to highlight the high waist of the leggings. This led me to choose my raw silk crop top. From there I knew I had to add a warmer layer since it is fall after all and my long cream cardigan seemed like an obvious choice. I once again love the sharp contrast between the black pants and cream crop top which also helps to accent the high waist silhouette in this look.

| Traditional Color Palette | I just refuse to stray away from this cream, white and black color palette! It just adds to the overall classic feel of the pieces themselves. However, the contrast in this look isn’t too harsh since the top & sweater are more cream than white. It gives the outfit warmth instead of being too cold or sterile.

| Shoe Decision | I wanted this look to be comfortable but still a little more on the chic side. So I decided on my leather black mules from Zou Xou. They 100% comfortable but elevated enough to wear to a formal event. Don’t get me wrong. My heels are also very comfortable but sometimes it’s just a flat shoe kind of day.

| Proportions | For this look I wanted to highlight the length of the ponte pant so I kept the top portion more oversized. This exaggerates the length of the pant by creating more shape towards the top. The heels also adds a little extra length to the overall ensemble.

| Cream Accents | Once again (sticking with the theme here!) I created a cream sandwich with my oversized sweater and cream heels. Having this kind of sandwich effect with colors in your outfit is another great way to highlight a piece.

| Dressy Details | I added some more feminine details to this look with my handbag, gold stack rings and heels. They help make this look a combination of chic and casual. I would be more than comfortable going out for drinks in this outfit. Especially as the weather gets colder!
