When it comes to spring and summer, linen is my go to fabric. High quality linen feels so effortless and comforting. It also wears in so beautifully over time. When temperatures start rising I reach for my linen more and more and I would say my summer closet is 80% linen!

Today, I wanted to introduce you all to a brand that not only make exceptional linen pieces but a brand that has a wonderful philosophy for living intentionally and with thought. So below you will see a little introduction to Ode to Sunday if you are not familiar with them, a review of their Frances top, outfit details and a special offer from Ode to Sunday. Lots of good stuff so let's dive in!

Ode to Sunday

Ode to Sunday is owned by a lovely woman named Agne and is based in Lithuania. They put extra detail into every piece they make which is all handmade by local tailors that are with the garment from cutting the pattern to sewing the final seam. Agne and her team appreciate and respect the process of creating linen as well as constructing a garment. I particularly love what Ode to Sunday says about linen, “For centuries, we have loved this cloth for the opposing virtues, strength and gentleness. When left to its own devices, it wrinkles like a smile.”

Frances Top Review

Before diving into the breakdown review I wanted to share why I choose this piece. I have been noticing in my capsules that I’m lacking tops that are in between casual and dressy. Specifically, I’ve been wanting to reach for a top that is work appropriate but not as formal as a silk button down. I also wanted a shirt that was either quarter sleeve or long sleeve. I have a bunch of short sleeve options because they’re very versatile - wear a cardigan or jacket over them for fall/winter or along in spring/summer. But I wanted some tops that wouldn’t require a top layer for spring. Out of Ode to Sunday’s collection, the Frances top made the most since. I also went with white because I was trying to brighten up my closet and not rely on black so much. They also have several other beautiful colors in this top such as light pink & burgundy but since I am so fickle with color white was a safe long-term choice.

| ITEM | Frances Top in White Linen - also comes in light pink, burgundy and black

| BRAND | Ode to Sunday

| PRICE | 140 Euro = roughly $165 USD

| MATERIAL | 100% linen

| FIT | my measurements: height 5’5” weight 135lbs, 34C, 28, 40 | wearing size: small | Overall I am very happy with the fit of this piece. The length comes to my hip bone and the sleeves are a proper three quarter length. I did notice that the boat neckline comes fairly close to my neck at times. This does not make it uncomfortable at all I just noticed it. A medium may have fit me slightly better but I like the overall fit of the small. There isn’t too much fabric around the middle even though the gathered back gives it a little more volume than a traditionally cut shirt.

| COMFORT | You all know linen is my fave so I’ll try to compare this linen to other linen pieces that I own. It is a bit stiff when I first got it but linen does naturally relax over time. It has taken me more wears to “break in” this linen than some other pieces that I own but I believe that is a testament to its quality. I was also pleasantly surprised that the white was thick enough to not be sheer which I sometimes fear with white linen pieces.

| CARE | According to website instructions, hand wash or machine wash on delicate cycle with the garment turned inside out, wash in water no warmer than 30 degrees celsius (86 degrees fahrenheit) and hang to dry. Garment can be ironed when slightly damp.

| STYLE | I decided to keep my palette light for this look with my favorite black pieces as accents. This is an outfit that I would normally wear on the weekends. Casual, comfortable and put together. I could easily dress this top up with some cropped black trousers and heels or wear it with shorts and sneakers for a casual look.
